Editorial Standards
Our editorial remit
OneGeneration News | OGM is a UK-first publication covering public policy, Westminster, business, economy, crypto and video briefings connected to @OneGenMedia. We distinguish reporting, source-linked video briefings and opinion so that readers can understand the type of material they are reading.
Evidence, attribution and primary sources
Where an article explains a policy, regulation or public process, OGM aims to link readers to the relevant primary or official source. For example, UK civic-information pages should link to the responsible public body, and UK crypto-regulation explainers should link to the relevant FCA, HM Treasury, HMRC or legislation material. An OGM explainer is a guide to the cited material; it is not a substitute for the underlying official source.
Accuracy, updates and corrections
Published work is reviewed against the source boundary set for that article. If a reader identifies a material factual issue or a changed official source, they can use the OGM contact page to provide the relevant detail and link. OGM assesses substantiated correction requests and updates or annotates material where appropriate.
Video, opinion and attribution
Video briefings are labelled and linked to their original channel or source where available. Opinion is presented as opinion rather than reporting. A video description, commentary or third-party claim is not treated as independently verified unless the article states that it has been checked against its cited evidence.
Public-information and no-advice limits
OGM articles may explain public information, regulations, procedures and published records. They do not provide personalised investment, legal, tax, financial, electoral, political or compliance advice. Readers should use the relevant official source and obtain independent professional help where their individual circumstances require it.
Independence and linking
OGM does not sell ranking links, offer reciprocal-link arrangements or publish paid placements designed to manipulate search results. Any external reference to OGM should be voluntary, accurate and useful to the referencing audience. We do not claim endorsement, affiliation or accreditation unless it has been formally granted and can be verified.
How to cite OGM material
Where an OGM explainer is genuinely useful, cite its article title, canonical URL and publication or update date. Please also link readers to the primary sources identified in the article when they need the underlying rule, policy or record. OGM maintains an OGM Sources & Citation Guide for selected explanatory pages and their official-source scope.
